Our charity is the fundraising arm of the Academy, working tirelessly to secure the resources needed to provide a holistic and transformative educational experience for every child. What is Joshua Academy?
Joshua Academy, will be a premier 6th -16th private Christian academic and housing institution; it is a beacon of hope and a place of transformation. The Academy provides a tuition-free, private education for the most vulnerable children in the foster care system. It offers a unique, holistic educational model that integrates rigorous academics with robust social-emotional support, life skills development, and a strong sense of community. The Academy is designed to be a residential campus where students can live and learn in a safe and stable environment, surrounded by caring adults who are invested in their success.

Our mission is to ensure that every student at Joshua Academy has the resources and support they need to reach their full potential. We are dedicated to raising funds and fostering community partnerships to provide a comprehensive, nurturing, and empowering educational experience. We strive to break down barriers, create opportunities, and build a foundation of excellence that will enable our students to transition from promise to purpose, becoming confident, capable, and compassionate leaders of tomorrow.
The Challenge: A Look at Foster Care in Maryland
3,800+ children are in Maryland’s foster care system today, many without long-term stability.
National data shows that only 69-85% of foster youth complete high school or a GED, compared to 95% of their peers.
Nationally, 30% of youth who age out of foster care experience food insecurity.
Approximately 20-25% of youth who age out of foster care will experience homelessness within four years.

Help us build and provide the necessary, life changing resources and infrastructure of Joshua Academy, a premier 6th-16th private Christian institution for the most vulnerable children in the foster care system. The goal of the school is to provide both the tangible and intangible things that they need to launch out into the world after high school. Whether their paths take them into higher education, the military or immediately into the work force, we will be there to help them along the way.
